Welcome

At Rahealty National School, we prioritize fostering strong relationships between home and school, ensuring that parents feel fully engaged in their child’s educational journey.

We believe that every child is unique and special, deserving of an environment where they are valued, their self-esteem is nurtured, and their individuality is celebrated. Our school ethos emphasizes collaboration and mutual support, encouraging children to work together while appreciating their own and others' differences.

In our inclusive and supportive setting, children are guided to take responsibility for their actions. We strive to cultivate a positive atmosphere where effort and achievements are recognized and celebrated, helping every student to reach their full potential.

Ms. Edel Kelly-Ryan

Principal

About our school

Rahealty N.S is a co-educational, catholic primary school, located 7 minutes outside Thurles. We aim to provide an equal educational experience for all of our pupils regardless of gender, race, religious affiliation, intellectual ability or family circumstances.

On site, we have 4 mainstream classrooms, an ASD classroom, 3 SET rooms, a Pre-School, a sensory room, a sports pitch and a basketball court. All classrooms are equipped with interractive whiteboards and all children have daily access to iPads.

Our school community is ever-growing, consisting of our pupils, staff, parents and wider community. Our school is greatly supported by our Board of Management and Parent's Association.

Ethos

At Rahealty NS, we are committed to the holistic development of all children. Our school is committed to the holistic development and wellbeing of all children, recognizing that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Through a nurturing and inclusive environment, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and self-confidence in every student. Our programs are designed to support the development of critical life skills, creativity, and resilience, encouraging children to explore their full potential. We prioritize wellbeing by integrating mental health initiatives, physical activity, and social-emotional learning into daily routines, ensuring each child feels supported and valued. By working closely with families and the wider community, we create a collaborative framework that empowers students to grow into compassionate, capable, and well-rounded individuals.

School Bus

Our school bus is available 5 days per week. We have collection points as detailed on the map but also can facilitate collection from houses on the route. Collection points are Mill Road Roundabout, Dún Lia, Kennedy's Pub and Rossesstown Road. This has proved a hugely popular service for parents, safe in the knowledge that their children are dropped safely to the school yard.
